Corporate Health and Safety
The Corporate Health and Safety Team has developed corporate policies in relation to
the higher risks to health such as control of legionella, asbestos, hand arm vibration
syndrome and noise.
Routine occupational health surveillance is in place for employees who are exposed to
health risks such as working with asbestos, silica dust and powered hand tools.
Mental health and work-related stress are a key priority for the Council. The Corporate
Health and Safety Team are raising awareness of the ways in which the causes of
stress can be managed to reduce exposure to the risk of workplace stress. These are
legally required proactive measures to identify and then modify working practices at
an organisational level to reduce the likelihood of people su昀昀ering from work related
stress. HR leads on the work with individuals who are identi昀椀ed as su昀昀ering from work
related stress symptoms.
The Corporate Health and Safety Team continues to ensure that individuals have
appropriate workstations when working from home.
