4.1 Financial Allocation
Food and Health & Safety
The Food and Safety Team are suitably funded to meet the demands of the Service and
our statutory targets for 2025/26.
Details of budgetary provision for the Service Area are included in East Su昀昀olk’s Budget
Book 2024/25.
Financial provision enables the use of external legal services where appropriate.
Coastal Port Health Authority
Su昀昀olk Coastal Port Health Authority (SCPHA) is entirely self-funding due to the costrecovery arrangements in place for importers, with no impact being made on the
taxpayers of East Su昀昀olk. A full list of charges can be found on the the SCPHA website,
which are updated yearly to re昀氀ect expenses and in昀氀ation.
Corporate Health and Safety
Details of the Corporate Health and Safety Teams budgetary provision is included in
East Su昀昀olk’s Budget Book 2025/26.
The Health and Safety Advisors that support the Su昀昀olk Coastal Port Health Authority
and the Housing service area are recharged to the relevant budgets.
Supplying the Council
East Su昀昀olk Council spends around £66 million each year and we are keen to encourage a
diverse range of suppliers, both large and small.
As a local council we are not just looking for the biggest companies to supply us, we encourage
